Principal - Jackie-Lee Lilwall
I learnt my first Ballet steps at the tender age of 2 at The Dance Academy in Harbourne. During my four years training I undertook several basic exams to start me on the Royal Academy of Dancing Examination ladder. After passing these exams 'West Midlands Youth Ballet' a school in Solihull was recommended to me where I went and trained for 9 years.
Being a professional school, high standards were expected from all dancers. Discipline was of great importance. In 1994 I auditioned for the Birmingham Royal Ballet where I was accepted on a placement. I was honoured to be taught by some of the finest principal dancers of the Royal Ballet.
After taking some more R.A.D. examinations I looked at London to further my career. In 1995 I auditioned and was given a placement at the English National Ballet School. Due to insufficient funds I was unable to stay and returned to Birmingham.
In 1999, I joined “Margaret Woodroffe's School of Dance” as a dancer. Here I was able to show my choreographical skills and arranged dances for some of the schools performances.
Realising I wouldn't be able to dance forever, I then spent 4 years studying and gained my Graduate part 1, 2 and Associate Teachers certificate, certifying me as a qualified I.D.T.A Teacher of Dance.
Wanting to share my knowledge and experience with others, I decided to open “Ballet High'
